Urban Heritage Preservation Projects

Since its establishment in 1417 H (1996 AD), the AI-Turath Philanthropy Foundation has been able to contribute significantly to documenting many architectural heritage landmarks inside and outside the Kingdom by conducting scholarly studies on the history of these monuments, their architectural haracter, the materials used in their construction, and other essential information.

In the spirit of preserving architectural integrity, the Foundation carried out these works on behalf of different actors, including government and private individuals.

The preservation of urban heritage is one of the main objectives for which the AI-Turath Philanthropy Foundation was founded, because this heritage is closely linked to the identity of Saudi Arabia and its cultural heritage, and in onsideration of the fact that urban heritage is a reflection of the essence of civilizations and values of their society.

AI-Turath Philanthropy Foundation’s efforts consisted in preserving and restoring a number of the most important Historic buildings, including mosques, palaces of King Abdulaziz and other authentic houses in all regions of the Kingdom.
